# Spanish Consulate.
11 Dec 1892
The
Sir,
I have just received a telegram from the Commandant-General of the Naval Station of Manilla, in which I am informed that there are good grounds for suspecting that the Accountant of the Fleet, Don Eduardo Fernandez Teruel, has decamped with $12,000 dollars, having embarked on board either the steamer "Don Juan", of Spanish nationality, or the British steamers "Esmeralda" or "Kiang", for Hong Kong. All of which sailed from Manilla the day before yesterday.
